KOKUYO's Harinacs Press binds paper without a single staple. Instead of punching a hole and folding a tab the way earlier staple-free staplers did, the Press model uses metal teeth and very strong pressure to crimp the sheets together, so the paper stays intact and the bound corner stays thin enough to file, scan or stack without a bulge. It binds about 5 sheets of ordinary copy paper in a mark of roughly 1.6 x 10 mm, and when you need to separate the pages again you simply rub the bound spot with something hard and they come apart. No staples means nothing to reload, nothing metal in documents headed for shredding or recycling, and no risk of a staple ending up where a child or a pet could find it. The body measures about 34 x 95 x 85 mm with a steel core and recycled-ABS covers, and it is offered in several colors. Made in Japan by KOKUYO.

1. Square up to 5 sheets of copy paper and slide the corner fully into the paper slot until it meets the stopper.
2. Press the lever down firmly in one motion — the crimp needs full pressure to hold.
3. Check the bound spot; if the sheets slide apart, re-square them and press again with fewer sheets.
4. To unbind, rub the crimped area with a hard object such as a pen barrel until the sheets release.
5. Keep the paper slot clear of dust and avoid binding glossy or heavily coated stock, which grips poorly.
