uni-ball One is Mitsubishi Pencil's gel pen built around ink that stays on the surface of the paper instead of sinking into the fibers, which is what gives the line its density. The Creative Color set applies that idea to the three inks that are hardest to get right: an opaque white that still reads clearly at a fine line width, and gold and silver metallics tuned for a soft shimmer rather than a hard gloss. Released by Mitsubishi Pencil in October 2024, the set is aimed squarely at decorating - planner spreads, black card, dark scrapbook pages, hand-lettered gift tags, highlights on illustrations - where an ordinary gel pen simply vanishes. The three pens come in an off-white barrel and write at 0.38mm, fine enough for small lettering and outlining without the ink flooding. Because white and metallic inks are heavily pigmented, they are best given a moment to dry before a second pass goes over them. Three pens per set: white, gold and silver. 1. Shake the pen gently before the first use so the pigment in the white and metallic inks is evenly mixed.
2. Write or draw on dark or colored paper - these inks are made to sit on top of the sheet rather than soak in.
3. Let each line dry for a few seconds before layering another color or closing the notebook, since opaque ink sits proud of the paper.
4. Cap the pen after use and store it horizontally to keep the ink feeding.
5. If the line thins out, scribble on scrap paper for a few strokes to restart the flow.
