A gentle, weakly acidic face wash — KAO Biore Uruoi Weak Acid Water is formulated to match the skin's natural slightly acidic pH (approximately 4.5–5.5). Conventional face washes, even mild ones, tend to be alkaline, which temporarily disrupts the acid mantle — the invisible pH shield that protects the skin from environmental pollutants and trans-epidermal water loss. Biore's Weak Acid Water formula is calibrated to match the skin's own pH, so it cleanses without stripping moisture. The Moist variant adds glycerin and hyaluronic acid for additional hydration insurance. The texture is a smooth, slightly watery lotion that lathers lightly but rinses completely. Popular among Japanese women with sensitive or easily-reddened skin who find even gentle cleansers irritating over time.
How to use
- Wet the face with lukewarm water.
- Dispense a small amount (approximately a 2cm strip) onto wet palms and lather gently between the hands.
- Apply to the face with light circular motions, focusing on the T-zone without over-cleansing drier cheek areas.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then finish with a brief cool water splash to close pores.
- Pat dry immediately with a clean towel; follow with toner or moisturiser while skin is still slightly damp.
