About this product
KATE Lip Monster Clear Tone C01 Flame Monster is a sheer red lip tint from Kanebo's KATE Tokyo Lip Monster line, using the brand's proprietary moisture-activated gel technology. The clear-based pigment reacts with your own lip tone to create a your-lips-but-redder finish rather than a flat, opaque red, then sets into a lightweight film that resists fading through the day.
How to use
- Apply directly from the bullet onto clean, dry lips in one or two swipes.
- Allow a few seconds for the gel film to activate from lip moisture and lock the color in place.
- Reapply to the center of the lips only for a deeper, gradient red.
- Blot with a tissue for a softer, more sheer finish if preferred.
Ingredients
- Dipentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate — forms the signature moisture-activated adhesive gel film for long-lasting color.
- Octyldodecanol — light-touch emollient that helps the tint spread evenly.
- Jojoba Seed Oil — softens and conditions lips.
- Olive Fruit Oil — adds nourishing, cushiony glide.
- Sweet Almond Oil — helps moisturize lips as the tint sets.
FAQ
Will C01 look like a full opaque red or something softer?
Clear Tone tints are sheer and blend with your own lip color, so C01 reads as a warmed-up, your-lips-but-redder wash rather than a flat, opaque red lipstick.
Does it transfer onto cups or masks?
The moisture-activated gel film is designed to reduce transfer once it sets, though very fresh application can still transfer briefly before it dries down.
Do I need a lip liner or primer first?
No — it's made to be worn straight from the stick with no liner needed, in keeping with KATE's minimal-steps, no-rules approach to makeup.
