Orders & Payment

Orders can be canceled free of charge before shipping. If already packed, a ¥1,000 JPY handling fee applies. Once shipped, cancellation is not possible. Contact us immediately if you need to modify your order.

Only one payment method per order. Coupons cannot be combined with other offers and cannot be applied retroactively to submitted orders.

Common reasons: incorrect card details, insufficient funds, bank blocked international transactions, or unsupported currency. Try another payment method or contact us.

Yes. If you find the same item at a lower non-discounted price on SmikieJapan within 72 hours of purchase, contact us for a price difference refund. Applies to full-price purchases only.

Shipping & Tracking

We ship internationally using FedEx and DHL, automatically assigned based on your shipping address. Contact us before order fulfillment if you'd like to request a specific courier.

Most orders dispatch within 1–5 Japanese business days. During major sale events or holidays, processing may take 6–10 business days. You'll receive a shipping confirmation with your tracking number.

Check with your building management, mailroom, or neighbors first. If you still can't locate it, contact us within 3 business days of the "Delivered" status and we'll investigate with the carrier.

If your order hasn't shipped, contact us immediately for a free address update. After shipping, we can try to request a change from the carrier — additional fees may apply.

Maximum shipping weight is 10 kg per order. Orders exceeding this will incur ¥1,500 JPY per additional kilogram.

Returns & Refunds

We accept returns for quality issues, wrong items delivered, or shipping damage within 7 days of delivery. We do not accept returns for personal preference. Non-returnable: opened beauty products, OTC medications, food items.

Take clear photos of the issue → contact our support team with your order number and photos → our team reviews within 1–3 business days → refund returned to original payment method.

Take photos of the outer packaging and damaged product before opening. Keep the original packaging. Contact us within 3 business days with photos and order number. We'll arrange a replacement or refund.

Contact us with your order number. We'll investigate and either send the missing item or issue a refund within 5–7 business days.

Products & Authenticity

All products are sourced directly from Japanese manufacturers and authorized distributors, shipped from our Japan warehouse. We guarantee 100% authenticity — no grey-market imports, no counterfeits. Contact us if you have any doubts.

Many genuine Japanese imports have Japanese-only labeling. Product descriptions and ingredient lists on our website are provided in English. Check the manufacturer's official website for detailed ingredient information.

Skincare & Beauty: Cosmetics with shelf life over 3 years may omit expiry dates per Japanese regulations. Most are safe for 2–3 years from manufacture.

Food & Snacks: Japanese products use "best-before" dates — safe after this date but best enjoyed before it.

Japanese brands frequently update packaging design without changing the formula. Minor differences in outer packaging are normal. If you receive a completely different product, contact us immediately.

Yes. All health products meet Japanese national safety standards. Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications. OTC medicines cannot be returned once sold, except for quality defects.

Account & Rewards

Taxes & Duties

USA: 10% import fee collected at checkout — no surprise charges at delivery.
Canada & EU: Sales tax collected at checkout.
Southeast Asia & Other regions: Taxes not collected at checkout — your local carrier may invoice duties on delivery.
If double-charged, contact us with proof for reimbursement.

Yes. A 10% import fee is automatically added at checkout for all US orders. This is collected upfront — the price you see at checkout is the final price with no additional delivery charges.
