In 1980, Kenji Ikemori's wife developed severe contact dermatitis from preservatives in her cosmetics. Unable to find skincare without preservatives anywhere in Japan, Ikemori founded FANCL in Yokohama with a single mission: create the world's first preservative-free skincare.
