About this product
The Gokigen-tori stamp series comes from Sankakeru, SANBY's own original stationery line, and the joke is a good one: figures out of famous Western paintings turn up in your notebook to cheer you on. Leave It to Venus takes Botticelli's Birth of Venus, the Curious Girl nods to a Vermeer, DJ Mona Lisa gives Leonardo's sitter a set of decks, and Woman Twirling a Parasol comes from Monet, all redrawn in a flat, deadpan style. Each stamp is sold singly and the bodies run about 20 x 60 x 30 mm or 20 x 40 x 40 mm depending on the design. A detail the maker points out: because the impression is a line drawing, you can color it in afterwards with markers or colored pencils and end up with something closer to the painting it parodies, which turns a stamp into a small activity. These are rubber stamps, so a stamp pad is required and sold separately, letting you pick the ink color. Suits planner pages, message cards, memos and letters. Design varies by item. How to use
- Tap the rubber face evenly on a stamp pad, which is sold separately.
- Press straight down on the paper with steady pressure, then lift straight up.
- Color the line-drawn impression in afterwards with markers or colored pencils if you want a painted look.
- Wipe the rubber face clean with a soft dry cloth so dried ink does not fill the fine lines.
- Store it out of direct sunlight to keep the rubber from hardening.
