ZEBRA Sarasa Clip Gel Pen 0.4mm 5-Color Set

The Sarasa Clip is the gel pen most Japanese students actually own, and this is the 5-color set built on the 0.4mm tip (JJS15-5C-N). Sarasa runs on water-based pigment gel ink, which is why it lays a dark saturated line at almost no pressure and why a dry line resists water and fading far better than dye-based gel. 0.4mm sits deliberately between the two popular sizes - finer than the default 0.5mm so it still fits a planner grid, but with enough ink on the page to stay comfortably readable in a lecture notebook. Five colors is the practical color-coding size: one for definitions, one for corrections, one for dates, and two left over for whatever a subject needs. The clip is the other half of the name: a hinged binder clip that swings wide enough to bite onto a thick notebook cover or a stack of handouts, instead of snapping off the way a rigid pocket clip does. Every barrel in the set is individually refillable with a Zebra JF-0.4 cartridge in the matching color, so the pack becomes a long-term kit rather than something you throw away color by color. 1. Assign each color a job before you open a new notebook - definitions, corrections, dates - so the set does real work instead of sitting in a pouch.
2. Click the knock to extend the 0.4mm tip and write with light pressure; gel ink is designed to flow without force, and pressing only wears the tip.
3. Retract the tip before dropping the pen in a bag so the point does not dry out or get bent.
4. When a color runs out, twist the barrel apart and fit a Zebra JF-0.4 refill in the same color rather than binning the pen.
5. If a pen hesitates after sitting unused, scribble a few loops on scrap paper to draw the pigment ink back down to the ball.
