PELICAN ノーファンデソープ (No Foundation Soap) is a 80g Japanese facial soap whose name means "no foundation". The formula pairs bentonite and kaolin (cleansing aids), AHA (malic and lactic acid), jojoba seed oil, hyaluronic acid, collagen and ceramides with a plant-derived soap base, and it builds a dense micro-foam. Made by PELICAN SOAP, the Tokyo heritage body-care soap maker founded in 1947, this facial soap is targeted at the Philippine market's growing interest in "skin care instead of makeup" routines — the Korean-beauty-influenced philosophy that the best foundation is good skin. How to use
- Wet the soap well with lukewarm water (around 30°C).
- Roll the soap in your hands about 20 times, adding a little lukewarm water as you go, then put the soap aside and whisk the foam with air until it is dense enough to stay in place when turned upside down.
- Wash with the foam rather than rubbing with your hands, starting with the oilier areas: forehead and nose, then mouth and chin, then around the eyes, then cheeks, in small circles.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry gently. Dry the bar well after use.

FAQ
Will this soap actually replace foundation?
No — it is a facial cleansing soap, not a replacement for foundation coverage. The name reflects the "skin care instead of makeup" idea.
Is it suitable for sensitive facial skin?
It is made without mineral oil, parabens, ethanol, synthetic colourants or synthetic fragrance, but always patch test on the inner forearm before first facial use. Do not use it if you have a skin concern at the site.
Can I use it to remove makeup?
The formula is mild and not designed to remove heavy makeup; use a dedicated makeup remover first if you wear foundation or sunscreen.
Can I use it on the body?
Not recommended — facial soap formulation; use a body soap for body use.
