About this product
Kao Haiter Washing Machine Cleaner is an oxygen-based powder that helps remove mold, grime, and unpleasant odors from the washing machine tub. This 180 g pack is for cleaning the machine without laundry inside. Follow the package directions and your machine's care instructions. Do not mix with chlorine or reducing bleach products.
How to use
- Make sure the drum is empty — do not put laundry in while using this product, as it can discolour fabrics.
- Fill the machine to the high water level with lukewarm water (about 40°C). Do not use boiling water.
- Cut the spout along the dotted line and pour in the whole pack.
- Run the machine for 2–3 minutes to dissolve the powder, then leave it to soak for about 2 hours.
- Run a standard cycle (wash, rinse, spin). If grime is still left in the drum, run 1–2 more standard cycles; on first use or with heavy buildup, use it once more.

- Surfactant (sodium alkanoyloxybenzenesulfonate) — cleaning agent.
- Foaming agent (sodium percarbonate) — oxygen-based foaming action that lifts grime from the drum.
- Carbonate (30%) — cleaning builder.
- Rust inhibitor — helps protect the machine's metal parts.
- Stabilizer — keeps the powder stable.
FAQ
Is this safe for all washing machine types?
It is designed for fully automatic top-load machines. Kao does not recommend it for front-load (drum-type) machines, because the whole drum usually cannot be submerged for the soak — follow your machine manual instead.
How often should I use this?
Once per month for normal use; every 2 weeks in summer or if musty smell is persistent.
Can it be used with drum-cleaning tablets?
Use one product at a time — do not combine with other cleaning products.
Will it damage rubber drum seals?
Not at the recommended dosage and frequency; excessive use can degrade rubber gaskets over time.
What water temperature should I use?
Lukewarm water (about 40°C) helps the powder dissolve fully. Do not use boiling water.
