The Jetstream SXE3-400 is uni's slim three-color ballpoint, and this is the 0.38 mm version for people who write small. Three refills, black, red and blue, sit in one barrel, selected by sliding the color knobs at the top. The ink is what sets it apart: Jetstream uses a low-friction oil-based pigment ink that gives a noticeably lighter, smoother stroke than a conventional ballpoint at any writing speed, dries quickly on the page and produces a dark, clear line that resists water and fading. At 0.38 mm the line is fine enough for planner boxes, margin notes and forms with small fields, while the barrel stays thin enough to carry in a shirt pocket or pen loop. Refills are the standard Jetstream SXR-80-38 cartridges, so the pen is a long-term keeper rather than a disposable. 1. Slide the knob for the color you want; the previous color retracts automatically.
2. Retract all knobs before putting the pen in a bag so the tips stay protected.
3. Replace an empty color with a Jetstream SXR-80-38 refill in the matching shade.
4. If a line skips after long storage, scribble on scrap paper to restart the ink flow.
5. Store the pen tip-down or horizontally rather than tip-up.
