About this product
Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Shimitorina is a portable, pen-style stain remover from Japan, designed for immediate on-the-spot treatment of food, drink, and sauce stains on clothing before they set — delivering effective stain-breaking action in a compact, pocket-sized format that makes it an essential carry item for commuting, dining out, and travel.
How to use
- Before use, test on an inconspicuous area to make sure the color does not run.
- Blot the stain with a tissue.
- Place a cloth or 3–4 clean tissues behind the stained area.
- Starting from the edge of the stain, squeeze the bottle lightly to release the liquid until the whole stain is lightly soaked, while tapping firmly with the pointed tip.
- When the stain is almost gone, tap the area thoroughly with a tightly wrung damp towel to prevent ring marks.
- If you don't know what caused the stain, try the Lipstick/Foundation bottle first, then Curry/Ketchup/Dressing, then Soy Sauce/Sauce/Coffee/Blood.
- Do not use on fabrics whose color runs in water (take special care with rayon and Tencel), kimono, fabrics with gold or silver thread, unbleached fabrics, rubber or leather. Do not use the Lipstick/Foundation bottle on acetate.
- Do not iron the area until it is completely dry. If any stain remains, wash or dry-clean the garment.
- Store in a cool place. Keep out of reach of infants and children.
Ingredients
- Curry / Ketchup / Dressing bottle — surfactant (3% sodium alkanesulfonate) and solvent.
- Soy Sauce / Sauce / Coffee / Blood bottle — surfactant (3% sodium alkanesulfonate).
- Lipstick / Foundation bottle — surfactant (3.5% polyoxyethylene alkyl ether) and solvents (butyl acetate, isopropanol). All three are weakly alkaline.

What types of stains does it work on?
Each bottle is for a different kind of stain — curry, ketchup, dressing, barbecue sauce, chocolate and mayonnaise; soy sauce, sauce, coffee, fruit juice, tea, miso soup, beer, sake and blood; or lipstick, solid foundation, cooking oils, butter, crayon and machine oil. Stains that have set over time may not come out, so deal with blood stains right away.
Are there stains it cannot remove?
Yes — liquid foundation, paint, hair dye, ink, marker, ballpoint pen and pollen will not come out with this product, and long-wear lipstick may not come out.
Can this be used on colored or delicate fabrics?
Test on an inconspicuous area first to make sure the color does not run. Do not use it on fabrics whose color runs in water (especially rayon and Tencel), kimono, gold or silver thread, unbleached fabrics, rubber or leather.
Do I need to rinse with water afterward?
No rinsing is needed. Tap the area with a tightly wrung damp towel to prevent ring marks, and wash or dry-clean the garment if any stain remains.
