About this product
The larger 245ml pump-dispenser format of Kurobara Honpo's signature Hamono Tsubaki camellia oil, ideal for households and workshops that maintain multiple knives, blades, or tools regularly. Same trusted formula as the 100ml drip bottle, in a bottle designed for easy, repeated dispensing.
How to use
- Wipe the blade or tool surface clean and dry.
- Pump a small amount of oil onto a soft cloth.
- Spread evenly over the metal surface, working into the full length of the blade.
- Wipe off any excess and store the tool in a dry place.
Ingredients
- Mineral oil — base lubricant that coats metal surfaces and displaces moisture to prevent rust.
- Camellia seed oil (Tsubaki oil) — traditional Japanese oil valued for its light texture and long-lasting protective film on steel.
- Triethylhexanoin — emollient-type ester that helps the oil spread thinly and evenly.
- Yellow 204 — colorant for visual identification of the oil film.
FAQ
What's the difference between this and the 100ml version?
Same camellia oil formula — this 245ml size uses a pump dispenser instead of a drip spout, better suited for frequent use on multiple tools.
Can I use it on garden shears and woodworking tools too?
Yes, it is suitable for a range of precision tools and machinery in addition to kitchen and Japanese blades.
🇺🇸 For US customers
A favorite among knife collectors and hobbyist woodworkers, this larger pump-dispenser size of Kurobara Honpo's traditional camellia oil is built for regular maintenance routines — the same trusted Japanese formula, just easier to use across multiple blades and tools.
