ZEBRA Mind Wave × Sarasa Multi 0.5mm Pens｜Cute Multi-Function Pens – Piyokoman, Shibanban & Nyansuke

This is a Zebra x Mind Wave collaboration: the barrel wears Mind Wave's own characters, while the writing mechanism inside is Zebra's Sarasa Multi 4+1. One body carries four 0.5mm Sarasa gel ink colors - black, blue, red and green - plus a 0.5mm mechanical pencil, so marking up a textbook, color-coding a planner and sketching a rough layout all happen without swapping pens. Sarasa gel is a water-based pigment ink: it lays a dark, saturated line with almost no drag and becomes water resistant once dry, which matters for notes that have to survive a spilled drink. The movable binder clip opens wide enough to grip a planner cover, a pocket or a bag strap, and the knock at the tail end feeds pencil lead. Character designs across this run include Piyokomame the little chick, Shibanban the shiba inu and Gorogoro Nyansuke the cat, printed on soft pastel bodies. The pen measures roughly 13.8mm at its widest and 154.3mm long, weighing about 16.7g. Made in Japan by Zebra for Mind Wave.

1. Slide the colored lever on the barrel down to bring out that ink color; slide another lever to switch, which retracts the first.
2. Knock the tail end to advance 0.5mm mechanical pencil lead.
3. Pull off the tail cap to reach the built-in eraser and to load fresh 0.5mm lead into the pencil channel.
4. When a color runs out, unscrew the barrel and swap in a Zebra Sarasa 0.5mm gel refill of the same color rather than replacing the whole pen.
5. Retract all tips before dropping it in a bag so the gel tips do not dry or scratch the character print.
